2014 CSRS Meeting Invitation

Colleagues and Friends:

CSRS returns to the South to a central Florida location for our 2014 CME events. As your local host, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the CSRS 19th Instructional Course and 42nd Annual Meeting which will be held at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL near Lake Buena Vista. The hotel is situated in the heart of Orlando theme-park country and is surrounded by 21 acres of shimmering lakes, lush landscaping and tropical outdoor activity spaces. Celebrating 30 years of exceptional service, the hotel is considered a luxury resort as well as a spectacular meeting destination. It provides a unique secluded setting, superior service, diverse dining options and exclusive amenities. Known as offering a family friendly resort experience, 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature design golf, an award winning tennis and racquet club, numerous marked walking, jogging and bike trails are available for travelers of all ages.

The hotel is easily accessible from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) with direct flights from more than 30 airlines and nonstop service from more than 80 U.S cities and 37 international destinations. Orlando’s signature sunny skies, average December high temperature of 67 degrees Fahrenheit / 19 degrees Celsius and the beautiful Hyatt Grand Cypress Hotel all combine to provide an ideal destination and venue for our 2014 meetings.

Our educational events begin on Wed, Dec 3 with the one-day instructional course under the direction of Program Chair Alpesh A. Patel, MD. Alpesh and his Committee are organizing an outstanding line-up of presentations including sessions on surgical techniques, patient reported outcomes, deformity, trauma and cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Course faculty will discuss cases, engage in debates and showcase multi-media presentations.

The 42nd Annual Meeting will run from Thursday Dec 4 through Sat Dec 6 with programming that will consist of papers and posters detailing the latest advances in cervical spine care as well as symposia, and updates on clinically relevant topics.

A “hybrid” poster session will be introduced this year consisting of a combination of traditional posters, e-posters and a “highlight” session presented from the podium. Also new this year will be a two-hour optional, highly interactive dinner seminar that will feature prominent CSRS members. This innovative program is designed to offer unique perspectives from surgeons and spine professionals who have enjoyed a long and productive career.
