Accessibility Statement

CSRS Website Accessibility

The Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) is committed to ensuring that our website, www.csrs.org, is accessible to all users—regardless of physical, sensory, cognitive, or other differences. We recognize the importance of digital inclusion across the many regions and communities we serve. Our goal is to provide an inclusive online experience that empowers members, prospective members, and the general public to access information, participate fully, and engage meaningfully with our Society.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility and usability of our website. Our goal is to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and to align with relevant international accessibility laws, including:

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (U.S.)
  • The European Accessibility Act (EAA)
  • The UK Equality Act 2010

We see accessibility as an ongoing responsibility and a key part of our mission to serve our members and all people affected by movement disorders.

Key Accessibility Features

To help us achieve our accessibility goals, we are implementing the following measures and are committed to ongoing improvements:

  • Readable Design: We use clear fonts, high contrast colors, and a logical content structure.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are fully operable using only a keyboard.
  • Alternative Text: We provide meaningful alt text for images.
  • Captions and Transcripts: We include captions and transcripts for pre-recorded media.
  • Semantic HTML: We use clear headings, lists, and HTML structure.
  • Consistent Navigation: Our layout and menus are designed for ease of use.
  • Accessible Forms: Forms include clear labels, instructions, and logical tab order.
  • Regular Accessibility Reviews: We conduct audits to identify and resolve barriers.
  • Staff Training: Web content staff are trained in accessibility.

Known Limitations

While we aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and other relevant standards, some areas may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Older PDF Documents: Some legacy PDFs may not be screen-reader friendly. Contact us for alternatives.
  • Third-Party Content: Some external platforms may not meet our accessibility standards.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is a continuous process. We are committed to improving our website based on user feedback, evolving standards, and new technologies. Regular reviews help ensure our content remains accessible.
