CSRS Resident & Fellow Annual Meeting Scholarship Program

The Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) is seeking orthopaedic and/or neurosurgery residents and spine fellows, with a strong interest in pursuing cervical spine research, to apply for a meeting scholarship for the Annual Meeting and Instructional Course. Individuals that can obtain institutional funding or funding from their training program for the meeting should not apply. Educational scholarship recipients will be expected to attend all scientific portions of the meeting, (starting with the resident & fellow pre-conference session on Wed, Dec. 1, 2021 and ending with the scientific sessions the afternoon of Sat, Dec. 4), respond to all CSRS communications and submit a survey about their experience within 30 days of their return home.


  • An orthopaedic or neurosurgery resident or a fellow in an orthopaedic or spine fellowship
  • Have not received a scholarship to attend a CSRS meeting within the last two (2) years
  • Directly involved in/interested in cervical spine research or cervical spine care
  • Candidates are not required to be CSRS members
  • Candidates should be from the United States

Scholarship covers:

  • Complimentary registrations to the Annual Meeting & Instructional Course
  • Attendance at the resident & fellow pre-conference gathering
  • Round-trip economy class airfare
  • Hotel accommodations (Wed-Fri nights)
  • A stipend for incidental expenses

Application requirements:

  • CV demonstrating direct involvement in spine research/care
  • Brief Letter of Interest
  • One (1) Letter of Recommendation from a CSRS Active Member

Application will open June 1 and close August 6, 2021. Scholarships will be awarded mid-September.
