What is CSRS?

The Cervical Spine Research Society® is a multidisciplinary organization of individuals interested in clinical and research problems of the cervical spine. Its purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange and development of ideas and philosophy regarding the diagnosis and treatment of cervical spine injury and disease.  The organization values collegial interaction and strong scientific principles. What is the CSRS 51st Annual Meeting and 28th Instructional Course?

The Annual Meeting gathers leading orthopedic and neurosurgical physicians, residents, and fellows in an international forum. The meeting promotes high quality meaningful research, discussion, and exchange of ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of cervical spine injury and disease. The 28th Instructional Course will be all in-person this year and will be November 29th, 2023. The 51th Annual Meeting will be in-person November 29-December 2, 2023. The goal of these meetings are to:

  • Review appropriate anatomy of the cervical spine.
  • Compare the methods for diagnosis of neck disorders.
  • Evaluate operative and non-operative treatment options for cervical spine disorders.
  • Recognize and respond to complications of surgical treatment.
  • Exchange information on cervical spine research, diagnosis and treatment with both US and international surgeons.

Who can attend CSRS Annual Meetings and Instructional Courses?

CSRS invites those who are interested in the education and research of the cervical spine and those who participate in cervical spine surgery techniques, research or technology in their profession, including spine surgeons (both orthopedic and neurological surgeons), medical students, residents, fellows, allied health professionals, engineers, and corporate personnel. CSRS also invites up to two guests per registrant (excluding corporate personnel) to enjoy social events, award ceremonies and select presentations.

Where are the meetings located?

The 51st Annual Meeting and 28th Instructional Course will be held at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Will there be a photographer?

Please Note: On occasion, a CSRS photographer or videographer may take photos/videos at the 51st Annual Meeting and/or 28th Annual Instructional Course of attendees participating in sessions, functions and/or activities. Please be aware that these photos/videos are for CSRS use only and may appear in CSRS conference brochures, programs, publications, the CSRS website or other CSRS materials. Your attendance at the conference constitutes your permission and consent for this photography.

What hotel would be most convenient to stay at while attending the meetings?

The 51st Annual Meeting and 28th Instructional Course will be held at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. We suggest seeking on-site housing through our contracted room block here.

How can I get special pricing and a reduced resort fee while staying at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas?

CSRS secured a room block for meeting attendees. Please be sure to book within the contracted room block here by November 3, 2023 to get the special pricing.

Registration

My registration is being reviewed and has not been approved. What does this mean?

If your registration is being reviewed it may mean we are waiting for additional information such as:

  • Check or Wire Transfer Payment
  • Required additional documentation for Registration Rate
  • Updated Guest information
  • Updated Registration information
  • Etc

Can I change my contact information on my registration after it is submitted?

I am no longer able to attend may I transfer my registration to someone else?

You can transfer your registration to another person, however this is only available to people in your member or non-member type and will be subject to individual review. If you need your registration transferred please email us at info@csrs.org Attn Staci Smith.

International Travel

Invitation Letters

Invitation letters for visa requests are available for registered attendees. Please request a letter of invitation here.

Passports and Visas

To enter the United States, international travelers are required to have a valid passport. A visa is required for the citizens of countries that do not have visa-exempt agreements with the U.S.
Please visit the U.S. government travel site, to confirm if you would require a visa in entering the U.S.
Please contact your local United States Consulate to learn more about visa acquisition. Please note, CSRS is unable to submit a visa application on the registrant’s behalf. The decision to grant visas is at the sole discretion of the embassy/consulate. The meeting organizers cannot change the decision of the governmental agency should your application be denied.

Advance travel planning and early visa application are important. It is recommended that you apply early for your visa.

CME

How do I claim CME from a previous meeting?

To claim CME and Certificate of Attendance from an Annual Meetings and Instructional Courses from 2015-2022 use the Legacy CME Generator.

If I attend the 2023 meetings in-person when and how do I claim CME?

After each day access is granted to claim the CME from all sessions attended that day through the Annual Meeting portal. We will also send you a link to invite you to the Annual Meeting portal before the meetings begin.

If I purchase the 2023 meetings on-demand when and how do I claim CME?

You will be granted access to claim CME after you view each session. CSRS will send you a link to the Annual Meeting portal where content will be available starting January 22, 2024.

Cancellation Policy

  • In person registrations cancelled on/before October 9, subject to an 10% cancellation fee.
  • In person registrations cancelled October 10-November 3, subject to an 30% cancellation fee.
  • In person registrations cancelled after November 3, will not be refunded without medical or military excuse.
  • No refunds or cancellations available for On-Demand content.

Member Requirements

Does attendance at the Instructional Course count as my "attendance of at least one CSRS Annual Meeting prior to consideration of your application" requirement when applying for membership?

No, only in-person attendance at the CSRS Annual Meeting will count towards attendance requirements.

Does attendance at the Annual Meeting count as my "attendance of at least one CSRS Annual Meeting prior to consideration of your application" requirement when applying for membership?

Yes, in-person attendance at the CSRS Annual Meeting will count towards attendance requirements.

Does attendance at the Instructional Course count towards my attendance requirement to maintain Active/Candidate membership?

No, only in-person attendance at the CSRS Annual Meeting will count towards attendance requirements.

Does attendance at the Annual Meeting count towards my attendance requirement to maintain Active/Candidate membership?

Yes, in-person attendance at the CSRS Annual Meeting will count towards attendance requirements.

If I purchase the Annual Meeting On-Demand Content does this fulfill my membership requirements?.

No, to maintain membership or to be eligible for active member status when applying you must attend an Annual Meeting in-person, once every 3 years.

I cannot attend the Annual Meeting but due for my attendance requirement! How can I maintain my Active membership?

You can:

  • Submit a Scientific Paper for presentation at a scientific seminar
  • serve on a committee
  • present at an Instructional Course
  • serve as moderator or presenter at a scientific seminar of the Society
  • participate in Society research and data collection studies, as directed

New Members

I applied for membership this year, can I get the member rate?

No, official membership approval is voted on during the Annual Meeting and official member start date is not until 2024

Why should I attend this meeting if I applied for membership this year but membership will not start until 2024?

You will find out if you have been granted membership on Friday, December 1st, 2023 and are invited to a new member breakfast Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 by the CSRS Executive Board where you can meet them and discuss CSRS over breakfast.

If I am approved when must I pay dues?

Dues are due January, 1st, 2024.
